Dr. Vida Esfandiari enjoys following patients through the different phases of their lives. She says, “In obgyn, you can follow a patient throughout her life, and I really enjoy that.” Dr. Esfandiari is an experienced Austin obgyn who joins Women Partners in Health with prior clinical experience. She worked in a private practice in Houston and served as a clinical site director at a health center in Beaumont.
As a Texas-educated physician, Dr. Vida Esfandiari completed her undergraduate education at Baylor University in Waco. She received the Folmar Undergraduate Scholarship in biology, was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society and the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Health Pre-Professional Honor Society, and earned a Bachelor of Science in biology. For medical school, she moved to San Antonio to The University of Texas Health Science Center. Her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology occurred at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Her work at a federally qualified health center made Dr. Vida Esfandiari particularly aware of women’s questions and concerns about birth control options. She believes that women need to fully understand the benefits and risks of different types of contraceptives so that they can choose the option that will work best for their lives. She also enjoys providing care to pregnant women. From preconception appointments, to prenatal and postpartum care, each woman can count on individualized attention and compassionate care from our Austin obgyn.
Traveling to new parts of the world is her favorite pastime. Dr. Vida Esfandiari even traveled to India during medical school for an international medical rotation with funds from the Paul Brand International Medicine Scholarship.
