We’re expanding our obgyn team.

Please join us in welcoming Jennifer Summers, M.D., to Women Partners in Health. She has advanced training in complex pelvic medicine and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including the daVinci Surgical System. Dr. Summers is knowledgeable in all aspects of obgyn care and treatments and the latest surgical and nonsurgical treatment methods.

Dr. Summer Belongs to the Burnt Orange Nation

Dr. Summers, a full-blooded Longhorn, earned her undergraduate and medical degrees and pursued training at three universities in the UT system. Dr. Summers graduated cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family sciences. After graduation, she worked as a certified child life specialist, focusing on the emotional aspects of children in the hospital setting. That experience continues to serve her today as she works closely with patients to explain the many treatment options available and how to manage their care.

Seeking an expanded role in working with patients in a holistic multidimensional setting, Dr. Summers returned to school and earned her medical degree at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. Her success was recognized with membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honor society.

Dr. Summers completed her medical residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, serving as chief resident her fourth year. She received multiple awards, including recognition for medical student teaching and for gynecologic surgery. Afterward, she completed a fellowship in gynecologic advanced pelvic medicine and robotics surgery.
