After nearly 30 years of delivering babies and caring for pregnant women, Dr. Diana Weihs and Dr. Karen Swenson are modifying their practice and will focus exclusively on gynecology in Austin. Office hours continue to span Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
These two Austin gynecologists will continue to see women of all ages at the Women Partners in Health Central Austin office and Southwest Medical Village, providing comprehensive wellness and gynecologic services, including preconception counseling, contraception management, permanent birth control, menopause management and minimally invasive surgery for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids and polyps.
This change will also enable Dr. Swenson to continue her work with the Relate Center of Austin on sexual medicine specialty. Dr. Weihs will continue to advocate for women’s rights and perinatal health.
The WPIH founders and longtime Austin gynecologists will provide limited obstetrical services this year by taking occasional call with WPIH as well as continuing to work with the OB/GYN residency program of Dell Medical School at Seton Medical Center Austin.
“We will continue to get our baby fix during this transition, but look forward to enjoying a less hectic pace and getting more sleep at night,” says Dr. Weihs. “Thank you for all of your continued support of our practice.”
Your Austin gynecologists have collaborated to help smooth the transition for our newly pregnant patients. We are fortunate to have a vibrant obstetrical practice with partners who have the experience to manage routine and high-risk pregnancies.
