Teachers, students can use time off this summer for a wellness visit

Time off this summer? We understand that coming to see our Austin obgyns might not be first on your list when you have time off this summer, but we want you to think about all the reasons it might be the perfect time to give yourself the gift of good health. Here are some questions you should ask yourself.

Need your annual wellness visit? Now’s the time.

If you’ve been putting off your annual wellness exam, and you have time off this summer, call us. The annual wellness exam is important for women of all ages. It’s also the perfect time to schedule an adolescent gynecology visit for your daughter.

Suffering from an untreated condition? Time for gynecologic procedures.

Many women postpone gynecologic procedures because they are unable to get time off from work or school for procedures that require recovery time. Students and women with time off this summer can schedule surgery or in-office procedures such as endometrial ablation or a diagnostic hysteroscopy.

Unhappy with your birth control? Make an appointment to find a new method.

If your birth control needs have changed, and you would like to try a new birth control method, just use your time off this summer to make an appointment for long-acting reversible contraception, hormonal birth control methods or permanent birth control.

Worried about symptoms of menopause? Come see us for menopause management.

You don’t have to go through this change alone. Our Austin obgyns can help you manage menopause. We offer hormone therapy and medications to help with the symptoms of menopause, including mood changes, vaginal dryness and osteoporosis.

Concerned about osteoporosis? Schedule a bone density scan.

Another test that many women sometimes put off is a bone density scan. Now that you have time off this summer, call us to schedule this important test that helps screen for osteoporosis. We recommend this test for all women over the age of 65 and younger women who have known risk factors for developing osteoporosis.

Our Austin obgyns know that your time off this summer is important and valuable, and we would love it if you would spend just a little bit of it with us taking care of yourself. Contact us for an appointment.
