Diana Weihs, M.D.
Dr. Diana Weihs has been in private practice since 1985. She provides women with gynecological and obstetrical care of all types, including high-risk obstetrics. Her philosophy of care emphasizes active patient participation, shared decision making, and empathetic, direct communication. She has been consistently rated a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly and as one of “Austin’s Best Doctors” by Austin Monthly.
She earned a BA in English Literature from Rice University in Houston in 1975, then went on to pursue medical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, graduating in 1981. She completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1985. She was board-certified by the ABOG in 1988, and is a fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She has provided care for those less fortunate through Seton Community Clinics and Project Access for many years. She previously served as Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology section for Seton Medical Center and is an active staff member on several perinatal committees. She is also an active supporter of women’s rights. She and her husband, James Tai, MD have four children: Virginia, Walker, Margaret, and Ming. She is active in the greater Austin community through her involvement in her children’s schools and is on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood.
