A. Obstetrical Surgical Services
- Cesarean Section -
Our highest priority is the safety of the mother and child. Our effort is to keep our Cesarean Section rate as low as safely possible.
Other Surgery Required in Pregnancy - Surgery during pregnancy is seldom required. However, sometimes ovarian cysts or other abdominal pathology might require surgical intervention.
Cervical Cerclage - For incompetent cervix.
B. Gynecologic Surgical Services
- Laparoscopy -
Pelvic surgery via small skin punctures. All the physicians in our practice are skilled in laparoscopic
surgery.
Laparotomy - Larger abdominal incision, is sometimes indicated for complicated surgeries and for patients who are not candidates for laparoscopy.
Vaginal Surgery - All the physicians are skilled in the vaginal approach to 1)hysterectomey, 2)pelvic relaxation, 3)treatment of abnormal Pap smears and 4)pre-malignant conditions.
Urogynecolgic Surgery - All seven physicians have an interest in urogynecology and treating issues of female urologic/continence function.
In-Office Surgery - There are several types of minor procedures which are done in our office under local anesthetic and under sedation as needed.
Conclusion: We enjoy performing obstetrical/gynecological services, but feel very strongly about doing a careful preoperative evaluation so that our patients receive only the necessary and appropriate
surgical procedures, as well as providing excellent technical skills in the operating suite itself. |
